Frequently asked Questions

Why should I pay for video hosting when I can get it elsewhere for free?

There are certainly a number of no-cost video hosting services out there, but as always in business there's no such thing as a free lunch.
The free video hosting sites do so because they hope to raise revenue from the viewers of the videos, either directly by placing adverts over the videos, or indirectly by attracting the viewers to their site.
Clearly, when using videos to educate and inform visitors to your site, the last thing one wishes is for those visitors to be lured away, either to a video site or even worse a competitor who has paid for adverts to be placed over your videos.

A video hosted at vidhandler shows no vidhandler branding, allowing the customer to concentrate on the brand image you wish to present. Furthermore, we allow you to fully integrate the video with your site, theming the player, overlaying your own logos if required, and showing the customer appropriate links at the end if you wish.

How many concurrent streams can you support?

We allow up to 1000 simultaneous video views per customer by default. Should you require more than this, please raise a support ticket and we can raise this number to up to 10 000 with two days notice. If you require more than 10 000 concurrent users, we can accommodate this, but it will take up to 10 working days to provision.

What happens if I'm out of credits? Will visitors see an error?

If your account has run out of credits visitors to your site won't see the player at all. If you're using the pop-over player, visitors won't see the player link.

We of course recommend that you use the auto-topup option to keep your account permanently in credit.

My account is showing a negative balance. How is this possible?

For performance reason credits are not deducted from your balance in real-time. This means that you may have more video views than the number of credits in your account actually allows, hence a negative balance.
